However, I do get a serious case of the bleh whenever I consider the possibility of catching you up, dear NaNoWriMos of this world.
I simply have too much on my plate right now. I mean, where to find the stamina needed for 1667 words per day when each working day is aplenty with rapid speed dialogue in science lingo, richly spiced with bad puns and crazy rhymes? It’s hard work, let me tell you. Dub translating that kind of stuff taps into your creative powers and feeds on them until they’ve all dried up. And it doesn’t get any easier when one of the episodes turns out to be a 25 minute long musical. Rhyme, rhythm, content, images, lip sync. They all need to fit. Which makes for long hours, very long hours indeed, in front of the computer, with a pair of chafing headphones and an aching butt.
So, NaNoWriMo, I’m not surrendering. I’m falling asleep.
